Kind of behind in my blogg schedule again, tells you a little bit of how much I am enjoying my self over here maybe. I really love this country, the warmth the people, a wonderful place really. So last weekend Me, Inge, Niklas and Fredrik went on a trip again, this time the destination was Cape of Good Hope. We went droving there for a couple of hours; we spend a lot of time in the car seen as you can not walk anywhere, unless it’s safe. On the way to Cape of Good Hope we fist stopped at a Meuzeberg beach, lovely beach with small waves a perfect place for beginner surfers. We stopped and had a short break over there before we went on to our next destination stop; the Baulder beach. On the way to the Balders beach we drove through some lovely costal areas with beautiful sceneries. Balders beach is known for its penguins, you can swim with the penguins if you want. I was really looking forward to see these penguins, and I think I was already exited abut them when I was in Sweden. Anyways the story goes like this. I always seem end up in funny situations, this time I was much exited; I saw all this penguins over the other side of the cliff from where I was standing, so I sat down on the maus and gently swinged my legs over, however I did not se that there was a penguin breeding just blow where I wanted to put my foot, so of course the penguin bit me, ha ha ha, I had to shake it off, it was terrible, fortunately the beach was just below so I were able to clean my wound strait away, then again I must remind you I am travelling with doctors, fells kind of safe in one way:o) So after the penguin bite I was kind of put of by the penguins, not very fond of them as you can imagine, kind of funny story though. I told it at work, or actually I got caught by I guy who asked what I had done with my foot so I told them the story, and they all laughed very hard..;o)
After the penguin excursion we continued our trip to Cape of Good Hope. Wow the scenery is lovely. The Atlantic Ocean with huge cliffs standing out of the water is some nice view. We went on a hike where we walked for approximately four hours; we stopped at a beach just below the cape. Water was freezing cold but very refreshing. After having sweating so much nothing felt better than cold water. Once up on the Cape of Good Hope, you can se the pictures I have put up, It was a like a victory, we felt like putting up a flag there, but we had none and it probably would have flew away if we would have done so. It was a mighty feeling. Makes you feel alive. There is a lot more to tell, unfortunately I will have to shorten the story a bit. After a long day walking and exploring we travelled home towards Tygerberg campus. The people in my corridor were preparing a meal for us, so that when we came home dinner would be on the table, there is a picture of the dinner as well. We came home, kind of tired but you don’t seem to notice it so much here, seen as the days are so long and you get all this energy from the sun, geee I really love the sun, no wonder old religion worshipped it. Anyway the guys had bought some gin and tonic, so there we where toasting my penguins bite amongst many other funny things we thought of. The dinner was really appreciated. Then some other people came in our corridor. We were all planning on going out to a nightclub in Cape Town. The night was long and once again full of new happenings. Well actually I have been to many nightclubs at many different places and this one didn’t differ that much, some people maybe. Most of the people dress up nicely but some people stood out of the crowd. The guy with long stick right through his arm definitely did, and the girl with the see-through top maybe also did not look like all others. Well I was a bit too tired to enjoy my self to the most I danced a lot though. Niklas got drunk decided to talk a walk outside to another bar and ended up getting lost then he met a hooker on the street that showed him the way back, fortunately nothing happend. Saturday evening in Cape Town all people drive drunk, the police are not equipped with things to test if you have been drinking any alcohol. Well eventually round four o’clock in the morning I got home, sat in the back of a taxi-van with the friends I came with and had a nice view of Cape Town by night. It was a long night and I had the best sleep ever. Sunday was a lazy one, ahh well we not that bad… In the afternoon we went to a concert, there are some pictures of that as well. The place was magnificent, below Table Mountain on a hill there was a concert hall. This evening they were playing ethnical South Africa music supposedly. I it was nice, all kinds of people were there, old people, kids, hippies any one with an open mind. Right in front of the place where the band was playing some were dancing to the music. We brought some food and some wine. That’s all you need when you can sit outside and listen to music.. Ok, hope you had the patient to read through all this.. I will put up another one soon again. So Long folks!
